One of the top values for Waterfront Community Church is that we want to “Live in Giving” (see Loving God and People Well). Every Sunday morning, with every financial offering we receive, we try to leverage those resources for an area of need. We give away 100% of our Sunday offerings to love people well. It may be a single mom who is trying to make ends meet, a person we’d like to help get out of debt, or an orphan living in an impoverished country. Jesus told us, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” We want to take those words seriously as a church. The Chicago Tribune wrote an article about our first Waterfront project helping a single mom in our community that you can read here.
We’ve placed the power of distribution of our offerings into the hands of our people. We have developed a nomination process to enable those living in the community to help us leverage our resources to worthy local causes. If you would like to nominate someone you know who might need a hand or a little help, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will send a nomination form to you.
